These workshops are free to participants and is supported through an ArtsinStark grant. Some workshops may offer additional materials at a limited cost (will be specified for the workshop).

PAT WALTZ
NEEDLEWORK Workshop- "Sewing Seeds of Memory"
Pat Waltz will teach the basics of an age-old craft that is still an enjoyable pastime that leaves you with projects to treasure and pass on. It is portable and inexpensive activity suitable for young and old. Embroidery can be used for gifts, embellishing clothes, making special household items and much more.
Limit to 10 participants, ages 13 and up.
If you have embroidery materials, please bring them. Otherwise, we'll have embroidery hoops, needles and floss for workshop use. Hoops can be purchased at a cost of $3.00.

NANCY MICHEL
WATERCOLOR Workshop- "A Snow Globe Kind of Day"
Nancy Michel's goal with this workshop is to teach basic color mixing and watercolor techniques to achieve a small painting to be proud of! She hopes that her love of painting and teaching will reflect in the lesson “ A Snow Globe Kind of Day.”
Limit to 12 participants, ages 13 and up
All materials will be provided, but participants who have their own watercolor supplies are welcome to bring them.

IRENE TOBIAS RODRIGUEZ
"Block Printing Fun"
Participants will create their own designs, transfer to easy cut 4 x 6-inch print blocks, carve and print from them. The prints can be used for notecards if the participants desire.
Pre-carved print blocks will also be available to print with.
Limit to 10 participants, ages 13 and up
Optional: Participants may bring simple sketches for possible use.
All materials will be provided.
Paint shirts or aprons are recommended.

TOM KILPATRICK
The Art of Blending & Shading
Tom’s goal with this workshop is to introduce the basics of color mixing and blending, helping participants build a strong, practical foundation. Since pure colors are rarely found in nature, mastering these simple techniques is an important step in understanding color.
Limit to 10 participants, ages 13 and up
All materials will be provided.

GAIL WETHERELL-SACK
"Creating a Personalized Collage"
Participants are invited to bring scissors, photographs, magazine clippings, scraps of yarn, paper, fabric, trimmings, dried flowers—anything that would be fun to use in personalizing a one-of-a-kind collage. There will be some trimmings provided.
We will provide 12" x 16" canvas boards for each attendee. A limited supply of glue sticks will be available to share; however, bringing your own is encouraged. Recommend Elmer’s Extra Strength Glue Stick for best results.
This hands-on workshop promises a fun and creative experience as participants design a colorful collage filled with texture, layers, and personal expression.
Limit to 12 participants, ages 13 and up

KIM ANDERSON
Needle Felted Bird Sculpture
Spend a fun Saturday afternoon learning the art of needle felting! Using natural fibers, a felting needle, a pad, and your imagination, you’ll create a whimsical bird sculpture that is uniquely your own. Kim will guide you through each step of the process—from basic techniques to helpful tips and tricks—so you can confidently bring your bird to life.
Participants will also have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of wool colors to give their creation a personalized touch.
All skill levels are welcome.

Materials: All materials provided.
Participants may keep their felting pad and needle for an additional $5 fee.
