Our Mission
The Louisville-Nimishillen Historical Society (LNHS), founded on May 1, 2010, is one of the youngest historical societies in Stark County. Our mission is to collect, preserve, and share the rich history and heritage of Nimishillen Township and the city of Louisville. Our museum is operated entirely by volunteers.
LNHS offers engaging and educational programs that are open to the public and free of charge. Everyone is invited to attend! We always welcome new volunteers to join us in preserving our community’s story.

Step into Louisville’s past…if you dare! Join the Louisville-Nimishillen Historical Society Saturday evenings in October for a chilling journey through downtown Louisville. Hear intriguing stories of Louisville’s haunted history and the spirits, legends, and mysteries that linger from the past.

spooky—walk through
Union Cemetery. This event is
sponsored by the
Louisville Public Library.
Discover fascinating burial traditions,
cemetery myths and lore,
and interesting stories about
the Louisville citizens who
now rest there.
This program is recommended for
ages 10 and up.
Parents are advised that
some stories and experiences
may be too creepy for
younger children.
